CaregivingMcIvor's visitation ministry is conducted through a network of relationships and contacts within the church community. The ministry is overseen by the Lead Pastor. There is a broad network of relationships that have developed over the years, and many informal visits are conducted by friends, acquaintances and family. Life Groups serve as the front line of caregiving within the congregation. It is the goal of the church leadership to equip the congregation for works of service so that the needs and concerns of the community may be met through the healthy functioning of the body. The pastoral staff is available in response to crisis and personal need. This is particularly crucial in times of hospitalization, serious illness, and bereavement. Where a person is part of a Life Group, members of the group are often encouraged to participate in follow up and practical ministries (eg. meals, home visits, etc.). A set schedule has been implemented to ensure that shut-ins and the frail elderly are visited on a regular basis. This includes contact with extended families or loved ones. |
