Welcome to McIvor Online

Creating a church family with a heart for the community

McIvor Church Library

McIvor Church Library is located directly to the left of the main entrance to the church. Step through the doors and find a warm and comfortable place to explore questions of faith through the written word.

Beginning with the Bible and the ministry of Jesus, stories have always been one of the best ways to share the message of our faith.

Our library has both fiction and non-fiction titles as well as books and videos for children. We also lend out audiotapes of each Sunday's service.

Children's Books are another important part of our collection. Come and browse and pick out some Christian storybooks to share with your children.

Who can borrow? You don't need to be a member of McIvor Church to borrow materials from our library. Anyone can sign up for a Library Registration Number. Just ask at the library desk.

Non-Fiction

Our non-fiction section carries resources under these categories:

  • Biographies

  • Christian Life

  • Relationships

  • Suffering and Comfort

  • Devotional Readings

  • Contemporary Christian writers (Philip Yancy, Max Lucado)

  • Classic Christian writers (C.S. Lewis, Henri Nouwen)

  • Prayer

  • Bible Reference and studies

Fiction

Christian Fiction is an enormously popular part of our library ministry. Through fiction we can experience stories told from a Christian Worldview, something that is uncommon in today’s popular fiction. Christian Fiction began its current rise in popularity in 1979 with the historical romance series written by Canadian author Janette Oke. For a time, this genre seemed to define what Christian fiction was. But soon Christian titles were being written in every genre. Our church library has mysteries, romance, humour, suspense, legal thrillers and even ChicLit titles.

Authors

Here are links to some of our favourite Christian authors websites. Take a look, get to know them and then come into the library to borrow some of their books.
