Our last summer service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m.. We will welcome back Dr. Andrew Dyck, who will be speaking from Romans 8:12-17 with a sermon entitled Blessed Assurance. 

A friendly reminder that there will be no service on Sunday. Our next worship service will be Sunday, September 13 at 10 a.m.

COMMUNITY NEWS
** To accommodate time off for our staff, if you are planning to drop by the church this week, please be sure to call ahead to ensure that someone is there to open the door for you. In addition, the office will be closed on Friday. Thanks for your understanding.
Summer Worship Schedule – Thursday, September 3, 7 p.m.

Our summer worship services will be held on Sunday mornings, with the exception of the long weekends. Prior to each long weekend, the worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on the Thursday before. Our final Thursday summer service will be held September 3 at 7 p.m. This means there will be no Sunday service on September 6. 

McIvor Jubilee Celebration – 50 Years: Come and See What God Has Done – October 3-4, 2026

We are excited to celebrate McIvor’s 50th Anniversary this fall! Our celebration will include a Jubilee Celebration Banquet on Saturday at 6 p.m. Tickets will be sold for $25 each (advance purchase only) in the foyer before and after Worship Services. You can also contact the office to reserve your tickets. Payment methods are cash, cheque to McIvor Church, or e-transfer to [email protected]. Please indicate “Jubilee Banquet.” 

Activities during the weekend will include:

Saturday

  • 3:30-5:30 p.m. Building Tours
  • 6 p.m. Jubilee Celebration Banquet

Sunday

  • 10 a.m. Worship Service
  • 12-2:30 p.m. Family Fun Day Birthday Party

Plan to Protect Training for Volunteers – September 13, afternoon

The Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba has adopted a new format to train our ministry team called Plan to Protect. Our ministry leaders and volunteers who work with children and vulnerable adults will need to attend a training session before our various ministries can begin this fall. If you are involved in any of our programs that engage with children or vulnerable adults, please mark the afternoon of Sunday, September 13 on your calendar and plan to participate in the training. If you cannot attend, please contact Pastor Tamira.

Community Supper BBQ – September 17, 5-6:30 p.m.

All are welcome Thursday, September 17 from 5-6:30 p.m. for our Community Supper BBQ. Harvest, Razorback and Kids Club families are invited to join us for this come-and-go-style dinner. Kids Club Registration will happen at the same time.

Kids Club Volunteers Needed and Registration – September 17, 5-6:30 p.m.

Registration for Kids Club (Kindergarten to Grade 5) will take place during the Community Supper on September 17, with regular programming beginning September 24.

We are looking for the following volunteers to help monthly:

  • in our Lego building room (1 person)
  • with the registration table and snack set up (1 person)
  • with driving a family of four to our Community Suppers (1 person)
  • with foyer security during Kids Club (2 people)

Please contact Monica if you are able to help out in any of these ways.

Junior Youth – Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m. beginning September 17

Junior Youth, for grades 5-7, will take place at the same time as Kids Club–Thursdays, 7-8:30 p.m. Registration for the fall will be on September 17. We will meet in the Youth room and do the Alpha Youth course. Snacks will be provided. 

We are also looking for one more volunteer Junior Youth with a commitment of only one Thursday a month.

Women’s Retreat – September 19, Bird River, MB

Ladies, you are welcome to join us for a one-day retreat at Monica’s cabin in Bird River, MB. Come as you are and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere–low energy needed–with food provided.

Counselling Services Coming in Fall – September 2026-April 2027

Meghan Fowler, a student in the Providence Theological Seminary’s Master of Counselling program, is completing her practicum in partnership with McIvor. Her services will be available from September 2026 to mid-April 2027. This is a wonderful opportunity for McIvor congregants to receive Christian counselling. Please contact the office if you are interested.

OPPORTUNITIES
MB Seminary Courses Now Offered at Eastview Community Church

Teaching Churches are partnerships between MB Seminary and a local congregation that provides students and other learners with seminary-quality education and training that is contextualized for the church. Learners can earn undergraduate credits, graduate certificates, or even a master’s degree locally at Eastview Community Church! Alternatively, learners can also participate in the teaching workshops for their own personal interest, helping them to serve God and their church more effectively.
