December 11, 2023 – This Week at McIvor

2023-12-17 Advent - The Lord's Highway
Weekly Worship Service

Our next weekly service will be Sunday at 10 a.m. and we will celebrate the third Advent with Pastor Mikayla speaking on An Advent Song of Ascents: The Lord’s Highway from Isaiah 35:1-10, Psalm 146:5-10. Following the service, kids ages 4-14 are invited to Sunday School.

This Advent season we will be collecting food items for Harvest Manitoba. If you would like to contribute please bring your non-perishable food items to church during the next weeks and place them in the manager in the foyer.

Prayer Focus: Stand as a Signal

In that day the heir to David’s throne will be a banner of salvation to all the world. The nations will rally to Him and the land where He lives will be a glorious place.Isaiah 11:10

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.Romans 15:13

Advent Series 2023: An Advent Song of Ascents

The opening words of Psalm 122 capture some of the Advent spirit for this year, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord.’”

Advent is a season of anticipation, of watching and waiting for Christ’s return, but it is also a reminder that we are a work in progress. While we are anticipating, we also look back and remember the time when God broke into our history and became present to humanity in a remarkable way.
