Our weekly service Sunday, July 30 at 10 a.m. will include a sermon by Pastor Scott, The Hard Sayings of Jesus: Turning the Other Cheek. He will be speaking on Matthew 5:38-42.

Practical Love, Support and Prayer

Let’s continue to pray for Elizabeth and Katia as they recover and heal from surgery. Another way we can support them is by blessing them with some meals in the next weeks. If you would like to prepare a meal for them, please sign up on the appropriate Meal Train. If there are no suitable dates available, you can also purchase a gift card for them to order in.

Prayer for Kids Going to Camp Arnes

We are supporting 16 children in going to Camp Arnes this summer, August 14-19. Let’s pray for them as they prepare for and experience camp, God’s creation and His amazing love for them! Prayer cards with the kids’ names and ages are available at the camp table near the mailboxes.

Announcement from Exec and Council: The Hearth Church Partnership

McIvor Exec and Council are pleased to announce that we are partnering with The Hearth Church to lease parts of our building, as of July 30th on a weekly basis. 

This is a small congregation that Justin Koop is attending with his ministry group Geekdom House. They formerly met at 188 Princess, but that location no longer suited their mission and their preferred location.

We had several meetings with them and they are in alignment with our Statement of Faith and choose to comply on any differences of opinion. We are pleased to have them lease the fellowship room and the playroom as needed on Sunday afternoons, as well as the basement Garage room on Thursday evenings.

Pastor Dennis Maione and Justin Koop are our contacts and security people. They are a younger group and we are hopeful to potentially collaborate on future projects.

If you encounter them, please make them feel welcome!

Sound Training & Service Opportunity

We are blessed with the addition of Max Wiebe to our staff through the summer, as our Service Production Coordinator. Max is well-versed and will be offering a training workshop in August to equip and develop our sound and livestream volunteers. If you are interested in this training, please contact Anne.

Summer Service – Thursday, August 3, 7 p.m.

Please be reminded of our upcoming change in summer worship schedule with the upcoming August long weekend. Prior to each long weekend, the weekly worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on the Thursday before the weekend: August 3 and August 31. This means no Sunday services on August 6 and Sept. 3. Services on Thursday evenings will include a time of refreshments and connecting after the service.

First Annual McIvor Garden Tour – August 9, 10 a.m.

We are planning our first annual Garden Tour! On August 9, we will meet at McIvor Church at 10 a.m. and we will proceed to visit various gardens belonging to fellow McIvor family members. At the end, we will have tea at Rodney’s house. Contact Tamira if you are willing to have your garden on the tour.

B-Side Apostles Concert – September 1, 1:30 p.m.

Mark your calendars, on September 1, the 55+ Walk & Talk Group will welcome back the B-Side Apostles for an afternoon concert with cake and coffee. There will be a $5 charge. Please RSVP with the church office.
