November 6, 2023 – This Week at McIvor

2023-11-12 Climate Action For Peace
Weekly Worship Service

Our next weekly service will be Sunday, November 12 at 10 a.m. when Pastor Kim will be speaking on Climate Action for Peace from Genesis 1:24-31. Children ages 4-14 are invited to join us for Sunday school following the service.

Prayer Focus: Loving One Another

“Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God…

God showed how much He loved us by sending His one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through Him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us and His love is brought to full expression in us.” 1 John 4:7-12

The first Young Adult Worship Night: Encountering God is tonight. May many – those attending and volunteers alike – encounter the living and life-transforming love of God!

Free Festive Family Fun Day – November 26

On November 26 we will be hosting a Free Festive Family Fun Day! This event is a community event and open to everyone, so please invite family and friends. There will be a free lunch, coffeehouse, bouncer, crafts, preschool play area and more! If you’re interested in volunteering with this event, please contact Monica.

MCC Buckets of Thanks

The McIvor Missions Committee is once again participating in the MCC Buckets of Thanks as our project. Please consult the website for items to be included in the relief bucket or see the display in the foyer. We are asking congregants to bring items off of the lists at the table. You do not need to fill a bucket on your own. We will then distribute the collected items between the buckets and use the funds that come in to buy the items that are still required. Thank you!

Donations of Fall and Winter Clothing

Anna and the Missions Committee are assisting several families who have recently arrived from the Democratic Republic of Congo by collecting fall and winter clothing for adults and children. Donations may be dropped off at the office. Contact Colleen for details.

Needed: Occasional Volunteer with a Truck, Able to Deliver Furniture

Do you have a truck and are you willing to pick up and deliver donated furniture on occasion to those who need it? We currently have two beds to be given to Anna’s community if we can pick up and deliver them. Please contact Colleen.

Madison House

Our annual collection of toiletries for Madison House will begin next week. A list of items being collected will follow.

Are You Passionate About Ministering to Young Adults?

If so, we are looking for people to serve as prayer warriors, worship leaders, ushers, baristas, speakers, etc. to be a part of a monthly Young Adult Worship and Prayer Ministry evening. Please contact Elwood or Pastor Mikayla.
