July 27, 2026 - This Week at McIvor

Thursday at 7 p.m. we will worship together, in anticipation of the upcoming long weekend. Pastor Jon will continue with Stories From Scripture, speaking from 2 Timothy 2:8-15; Luke 17:16-19 with a sermon entitled Remember Jesus Christ. Plan to stay after the service to enjoy ice cream and fellowship in the foyer following the service.

There will be no service on Sunday. Join us again on Sunday, August 9 at 10 a.m.

Help Send Kids to Camp August 10-15!

This year McIvor is sending 14 young people (ages 8-17) to Camp Arnes. The oldest camper leaves in one week to start the Crew program. The other 13 campers leave in two weeks. How can you help?

Pray for campers. Prayer cards are available in the foyer.
Donate to the “Campership Fund” to cover the portion McIvor will pay (still being finalized) and various camp supplies needed by campers.
Donate beach towels for campers who do not have one.

Leah Kosolofski will be driving the bus that we are renting to pick the kids up at their homes early on August 10 and bring them to NKMB to start the journey to camp. She will do the trip in reverse the following Saturday.

Puzzling in the Foyer – Weekdays, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

There is a puzzle table set up in the Foyer. Anyone who likes to puzzle can come and meet others who puzzle weekday mornings between 10 and 12, and who knows, maybe a Pastor will join you?!

Summer Worship Schedule – Thursday, July 30, 7 p.m.

Our summer worship services will be held on Sunday mornings, with the exception of the long weekends. Prior to each long weekend, the worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on the Thursday before: Thursday and September 3. This means there will be no Sunday services on August 2 and September 6.

Volunteers to Plan Christmas Service

We are seeking new volunteers to help in planning the Christmas service at McIvor in order for it to happen. We will need to have a team in place by the end of summer, so if you want to be a part of this, even if you don’t know exactly what you would do, please contact Pastor Jon.

Plan to Protect Training for Volunteers this fall

The Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba has adopted a new format to train our ministry team called Plan to Protect. All volunteers working with children and vulnerable adults will need to attend a two hour training. Pastor Tamira is currently undertaking the Train to be a Trainer course in preparation for this Session. If you are helping in our various ministries, be ready to participate in this event before programs start in the fall.

Counselling Services Coming in Fall – September 2026-April 2027

Meghan Fowler, a student in the Providence Theological Seminary’s Master of Counselling program, is completing her practicum in partnership with McIvor. Her services will be available from September 2026 to mid-April 2027. This is a wonderful opportunity for McIvor congregants to receive Christian counselling. Please contact the office if you are interested.

Save the Date: McIvor’s 50th Anniversary – October 3-4, 2026

We are excited to celebrate McIvor’s 50th Anniversary this fall! Please save the dates of October 3 and 4. Further details will be forthcoming, but a dinner will be included on Saturday night. Here are some ways that you can help!
