April 15, 2024 – This Week at McIvor

2024-04-21 The Power of Jesus: Justice and Grace
Weekly Worship Service

Sunday at 10am we welcome Pierre Gilbert back for the final sermon in the three week series The Power of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. This week his sermon is entitled Justice and Grace from Mark 15:38-39 and Romans 5:1-21. Children ages 4-14 are invited to join us for Sunday School following the service.

Prayer Focus: The Power of Jesus

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God and I trust Him. For He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with His feathers. He will shelter you with His wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.Psalm 91:1-4

…‘I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation.’Psalm 91:14-16

He stepped forward and took the scroll from the right hand of the one sitting on the throne. And when he took the scroll, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb…And they sang a new song with these words: ‘You are worthy to take the scroll and break its seals and open it. For you were slaughtered, and your blood has ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.’Revelation 5:7-9

Spring Congregational Meeting – May 5

Mark your calendar for a Congregational Meeting on May 5 after church. More details to follow next week.

In Search of a 3 Bedroom House/Townhouse in our Neighbourhood

Jon and Lynette Klassen are looking for housing in the area surrounding the church. They are looking to rent and ideally they would like a 3 bedroom house or townhouse. If you know of something that might work for them, please contact Pastor Kim.

Opportunities with Manitoba Harvest

The McIvor Food Bank has now met all our obligations to Manitoba Harvest for the grant monies we received a year ago. This includes expanding the number of clients we provide assistance to on the evening food distribution.

We are currently looking for a person or a couple that may be interested in helping out once every two weeks to pick up bread from a local grocer. If you know of anyone else that may be interested in joining our team or volunteering in other ways, please have them contact Rodney.

You are also invited to join us at the next 55+ Walk and Talk to hear more about this ministry.

McIvor Hobby Show – May 26

We will be hosting a McIvor Hobby Show on May 26. If you are interested in showcasing your hobby and sharing your special interest with others, sign up with Tamira in the foyer. Let us know if you need a table or a space in the gym to set up your hobby. Feel free to demonstrate and allow others in the Church family to try your hobby for themselves.

2nd Annual McIvor Garden Tour – July 6

We are excited to announce that our 2nd annual McIvor Garden Tour will take place July 6! That gives you plenty of time to plan your garden. If you would like to include your garden in the tour, sign up will begin in June.

** Please consult the bulletin board for other events and opportunities, including missionary updates and job postings. **
