April 8, 2024 – This Week at McIvor

2024-04-14 The Power of Jesus: My Name is Legion
Weekly Worship Service

Sunday at 10am we welcome Pierre Gilbert back for the second of a three week series The Power of Jesus in the Gospel of Mark. This week his sermon is entitled My Name is Legion from Mark 5:1-20 and Revelation 5:1-14. Children ages 4-14 are invited to join us for Sunday School following the service.

Prayer Focus: The Power of Jesus

…Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God’s Good News. ‘The time promised by God has come at last!’ he announced. ‘The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!’Mark 1:14-15

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.Matthew 28:18-19

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.Ephesians 1:19-22

Opportunities with Manitoba Harvest

The McIvor Food Bank has now met all our obligations to Manitoba Harvest for the grant monies we received a year ago. This includes expanding the number of clients we provide assistance to on the evening food distribution.

We are currently looking for a person or a couple that may be interested in helping out once every two weeks to pick up bread from a local grocer. If you know of anyone else that may be interested in joining our team or volunteering in other ways, please have them contact Rodney.

You are also invited to join us at the next 55+ Walk and Talk to hear more about this ministry.

** Please consult the bulletin board for other events and opportunities, including missionary updates and job postings. **
