Condolences on the Passing of Isaac Doerksen

On June 30 Ike Doerksen passed away in his home at Donwood EPH at 102 years of age. Please pray for his family as they grieve their loss. His funeral will be held on Thursday, July 9 at 2 p.m. in Steinbach. Read his obituary or watch the service.

Prayer for Lead Pastor and Volunteer Positions

Thank you to all who joined our Day of Prayer and Fasting for the Lead Pastor and volunteer positions that are available. We know that our investment and prayers have been heard and will bear fruit! Please continue to pray specifically for our specific needs. You can download a flyer here or pick one up at the Information Centre.

Volunteers to Plan Christmas Service

We are seeking new volunteers to help in planning the Christmas service at McIvor in order for it to happen. We will need to have a team in place by the end of summer, so if you want to be a part of this, even if you don’t know exactly what you would do, please contact Pastor Jon.

Garden Tour Thank Yous

Thanks to the Garden Tour hosts for sharing your gardens with us and to those who participated in this lovely morning together!

Help Send Kids to Camp!

This year McIvor is able to send 15 young people (ages 8-17) to Camp Arnes, including two older teens to Crew, the two-week work program. Most of the kids will be attending August 10-15, with the two Crew members starting on August 4. How can you help?

Pray for campers and for Camp Arnes who is still looking to fill key staff roles. Prayer cards are available in the foyer.
Donate to the Campership Fund to cover the portion McIvor will pay (still being finalized) and various camp supplies needed by campers.
Launder donated sleeping bags. Some of the sleeping bags being stored at church were used last year. It would be great if volunteers could take a few bags to a laundromat to be washed and dried, ready for new campers.
Donate beach towels for campers who do not have one.

Summer Worship Schedule

Our summer worship services will be held on Sunday mornings, with the exception of the three long weekends. Prior to each long weekend, the worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on the Thursday before: July 30 and September 3. This means there will be no Sunday services on August 2 and September 6.

Counselling Services Coming in Fall – September 2026-April 2027

Meghan Fowler, a student in the Providence Theological Seminary’s Master of Counselling program has asked to complete her practicum in partnership with our church. Her services will be available from September 2026 to mid-April 2027. Council believes that this is a wonderful opportunity for McIvor congregants to seek Christian counselling during this period.

Save the Date: McIvor’s 50th Anniversary – October 3-4, 2026

We are excited to celebrate McIvor’s 50th Anniversary this fall! Please save the dates of October 3 and 4. Further details will be forthcoming, but a dinner will be included on Saturday night. Here are some ways that you can help!
