Sunday at 10 a.m. Pastor Jon will finish our series on the Holy Spirit with a sermon entitled Can These Bones Live?, based on Ezekiel 37:1-14; John 3:1-8. We also look forward to celebrating our graduates at all levels for Promotion Sunday.

Come experience great community and fellowship at our final 55+ Walk and Talk for the season Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Bring your own mug and a snack to share!

Summer Volunteers Needed at McIvor Food Bank

Summer is approaching quickly, and while many of us are looking forward to traveling and camping, the food bank is still in need of support. We’re looking for volunteers who can help once or twice a month distributing food on Thursday mornings.

Promotion Sunday – June 22

Are you graduating? We want to celebrate with our graduates on Sunday June 22. Please let the church office know if you, or someone you know in the congregation is graduating from high school or postsecondary school.

Pickleball has ended for the summer and will resume in the fall.

Interested in Baptism, Membership, or Child Dedication?

Are you considering baptism, membership, or child dedication? We will be having a service to celebrate these in fall and we would love to include you. If you’re interested or would like more information, contact Pastor Jon.

Summer Worship Schedule – Thursday, June 26, featuring our Youth!

Mark your calendars! Our summer worship services will be held on Sunday mornings, with the exception of the three long weekends. Prior to each long weekend, the worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on the Thursday before: June 26, July 31 and August 28. This means there will be no Sunday services on June 29, August 3 and August 31.

Help Send Kids to Camp

The McIvor Missions Committee invites you to once again help send 11 kids to Camp Arnes in August. Financial donations designated “Campership Fund” are welcome. We also welcome good used sleeping bags, water bottles and beach towels. Contact Colleen in the office for more information.

Changes to the Nursery Area

We want to let you know about some upcoming changes happening within our church building. Beginning this fall, the daycare currently renting space in our basement will be expanding and will start using the Nursery Area on the main floor during the weekdays.

To prepare the space for weekday use, some modifications will be made throughout the coming months. Rest assured, the space still belongs to us, and we will continue to have significant input and oversight regarding any changes. Most importantly, we will retain full access to the Nursery on Sundays for Sunday School and supervised playtime. However, you may notice that the space looks a bit different going forward. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact the church office. We would be happy to help, or connect you with someone who can.

Athletes in Action Summer Sport Camps – kids ages 7-15

Athletes in Action (AIA) will be running several sports camps in and around Winnipeg designed to help kids grow in their athletic ability and character, all in a fun, encouraging and Christ-centered environment. Learn more.

North Winnipeg Camps (at Calvin Christian School, 245 Sutton Ave.):

Junior Basketball Camp (ages 8-11) – July 7-11, featuring U of W Wesmen guard Jazmin Birch
Volleyball Camp (ages 12-15) – July 14-18, led by Thompson Rivers University alumni Ethan Olfert
Senior Basketball Camp (ages 12-15) – August 11-15, featuring U of W Wesmen guard Jazmin Birch
Soccer Camp (ages 7–12) – August 11-15, led by Provincial All-Star Kaitlyn Klassen

Opportunity to Host MBCI Exchange/International Students

Are you interested in providing Homestay for Exchange or International Students at MBCI? They are looking ahead to fall when they will welcome several students from Germany (September to November), as well as one or two international students who will be here for the whole school year. Homestay compensation is $850 per month. If you are interested, please contact MBCI homestay coordinator Cassi a Proulx.
