Worship Service
At 10 a.m. we will gather together for our worship service and will continue with Stories From Scripture. We welcome Ferral and Cherie LaDelle as guest speakers. Cherie will speak from John 19:1-16; Psalm 146 with a sermon entitled Jesus Condemned. Sunday School for ages preschool through grade 5 will be offered following the service.
Adult Education will be offered following the service, where Ferral and Cherie will discuss the topic Finding the Open Doors to Your Neighbours.
Cherie and Ferral live and serve in Winnipeg’s North End, where they are church planting through Multiply. Cherie previously pastored for 8 years (and Ferral for 2 years) in a Mennonite Brethren church in the same neighbourhood before transitioning to full-time church planting. Their heart is to establish simple, small churches that make use of what people in the community already have access to—fully empowering local believers even amid low incomes and challenging circumstances. They are just completing their FOCUS internship and plan to continue serving as church planters with Multiply, in partnership with MBCM (Mennonite Brethren Church of Manitoba). We invite you to pray or Cherie and Ferral and their ministry in the North End.

Adult Education: Excursions into the Torah with Pierre Gilbert – beginning March 29, 11:10 a.m.
The Old Testament is the most remarkable collection of books ever to appear in human history. As mathematician and philosopher David Berlinski has observed, it is “the greatest repository of human knowledge and wisdom in the history of civilization, in any culture, any time, any place.”
In this series, we will focus particularly on the Torah (the Pentateuch), with special emphasis on the creation account. In addition to providing an introduction to the Torah, we will examine the following topics:
- Eve and the Serpent
- Divine Transcendence
- Creation Out of Nothing
- Only One God
- The Foundation of Empirical Science
- The Death of the Gods and the Abolition of Magic
- Human Dignity: In the Image of God
- The Origin of Evil
