Worship Service

Sunday at 10 a.m. we will continue with Stories From Scripture. Pastor Sherryl will preach a sermon entitled Peter’s Denial, from John 18:12-27; Psalm 17:1-7. Sunday School for ages preschool through grade 5 will be offered following the service.

Our Deepest Condolences to the Friesen Family

We want to continue to pray for Roger and Anne Friesen, and Vern and Karin Friesen and their families as they mourn the passing of their mom and grandmother, Elsie Friesen. A Celebration of Life service for Elsie will be held at 2 p.m. on March 14 at McIvor Church. Read Elsie’s obituary.

Meal Train for the Klassens

McIvor’s Harvest Program Honoured in the Legislature!

Thursday morning Rachelle Schott, the MLA for Kildonan-River East, came by to give this Member Statement honouring the Harvest Manitoba program run at McIvor. It was read in the Legislature on November 21, 2024, but she wanted to give it to Rodney in person. They finally met and she gave it to him and our church. 

Looking for Help with Child Care: EAL Classes – March 5-April 9, 10 a.m.

The next semester of EAL (English as Another Language) classes begins on Thursday. If you have some time to volunteer to assist with child care one time, please contact Pastor Sherryl.

McIvor Lent Giving Project: One88 Community Church

It’s that time once again for our Lent giving project! We will be collecting items for One88 Community Church until Easter Sunday. Stay tuned for details of what we are collecting and for the table to be set up in the coming weeks.

Thanks for your Generous Donations to the Orphanage in Mexico

The orphanage we donated craft supplies to sits on the Pacific side of Mexico near to Tepic-Xalisco. All the children in the orphanage are without families and many were rescued from the cartel that was trafficking them. As a result, you will not see the faces of the children nor are there many pictures of them. Dr. Meredith and Karen Penner thank our church for all the items we donated and wanted us to see just a few things created by the children. Once the sewing machines are all set up, they are looking forward to the children making pillows and blankets from the fabric and yarn that was donated.

OPPORTUNITIES

MBCC Nursery School Registration – Wednesday, 6 p.m. at 1315 Gateway Rd.

MBCC is a faith based Nursery school that offers an introduction to German, while helping to prepare children for Kindergarten. Two programs are offered, Monday/Wednesday/Friday ($50 per month) or Tuesday/Thursday ($40 per month), from 9:15-11:15 a.m. from September to May. $50 registration fee and one month’s tuition (dated May 31/26) required at registration. Springfield Heights Nursery School – Taking Registrations

Springfield Heights Nursery School is a German Language Program that has been nurturing preschool children ages 3 and 4 in a caring Christian environment for more than 45 years. The program serves as an introduction to the German Bilingual pathway offered at Princess Margaret School and Donwood School, helping children build confidence, language skills and a love of learning. Donwood Auxiliary Perogy Fundraiser – Order by Thursday

Donwood Auxiliary is offering a Perogy Fundraiser in support of quality programming and projects in their Personal Care Home. To order cottage cheese and/or potato and cheddar cheese perogies ($15/dozen), email [email protected] or call 204.668.4410 by March 5. Payment at the time of ordering is preferred. Additional donations are also gratefully accepted.
