May 25, 2026 - This Week at McIvor

Sunday at 10 a.m. we will gather together for our worship service and Pastor Sherryl will continue with Stories From Scripture, speaking from Ruth 1:1-22; Matthew 5:3-9 with a sermon entitled Loss and Loyalty. There will be no Sunday School this Sunday.

You will not want to miss Steve Bell, who will lead worship and provide a mini concert during our service on Sunday!

COMMUNITY NEWS

Community Supper BBQ – Thursday, 5-6:30 p.m.

All are welcome Thursday from 5-6:30 p.m. for our Community Supper BBQ. Harvest, Razorback and Kids Club families are invited to join us for this come and go style dinner.

We are asking people to bring a potato salad, green salad, or veggie platter. We are also looking for volunteers to help with table and chair set up/take down and/or light kitchen duties, please sign up in the church foyer, or contact Ron.

Outdoor Family Activities – Thursday, 6:30-7:45 p.m.

We are partnering with our Kids Club program in hosting outdoor family activities at 6:30 p.m. for all ages following the Community Supper BBQ.

Spring Congregational Meeting – Sunday, 11:15 a.m.

Our Spring Congregational Meeting on Sunday following the Worship Service will include recognition for all the volunteers who serve so faithfully in our church. The meeting will be followed by lunch together. Spring Reports are available here or at the Information Centre.

Recommendation from Council

To date we do not have a suitable candidate for our Lead Pastor position. Therefore Council is recommending that we extend Sherryl’s term position to December 31, 2026, with an approved leave during July and August. We will be voting on this recommendation at the Spring Congregational Meeting on May 31.

Missing Acer Laptop

McIvor Coffeehouse Volunteers

We’re looking for friendly, reliable volunteers to join our Sunday morning coffeehouse team. If you enjoy serving others, connecting with great people, and being part of a fun, welcoming environment, this is for you.

No experience needed–full Barista training is provided. You’ll serve once a month and pick up valuable skills along the way.

Come be part of a ministry that helps create a warm and inviting space for our church family each week. If you are interested, contact Luke or send a message to 204.451.9902.

Counselling Services Coming in Fall – September 2026-April 2027

Meghan Fowler, a student in the Providence Theological Seminary’s Master of Counselling program has asked to complete her practicum in partnership with our church. Her services will be available from September 2026 to mid-April 2027. Council believes that this is a wonderful opportunity for McIvor congregants to seek Christian counselling during this period.

Save the Date: McIvor’s 50th Anniversary – October 3-4, 2026

We are excited to celebrate McIvor’s 50th Anniversary this fall! Please save the dates of October 3 and 4. Further details will be forthcoming, but a dinner will be included on Saturday night.
