Weekly Worship Services
Sunday at 10 a.m. Pastor Kim will speak on the Parable of the Lost Son in Luke 15:11-32, with a sermon entitled, The Extravagant Love of God.
Following the service, Rev. Dr. Robert Dean will offer the final session of a 3-part adult education opportunity:
Immersed in the Mystery of the Triune God: Engaging the Apostles’ Creed – SUNDAY following the service
The Apostle’s Creed stands as an effective summary of the Christian faith, an interpretive key for Scripture and the pledge of allegiance for those baptized into Christ. Join us following the Worship Service, as Rev. Dr. Robert Dean, Associate Professor of Theology and Ethics at Providence University, leads us on a three week exploration of our faith as we engage with the Apostle’s Creed.
Sunday School for children preschool to grade 5 will follow the service.
OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT AND SERVE
Summer Volunteers Needed at McIvor Food Bank
Summer is approaching quickly, and while many of us are looking forward to traveling and camping, the food bank is still in need of support. We’re looking for 6–8 volunteers who can help once or twice a month, either with:
- receiving food donations on Wednesdays, and/or
- distributing food on Thursday evenings
If you’re able to lend a hand, please contact Rodney by email or by texting 204-667-2900. Your help makes a big difference—thank you!
Volunteer Opportunity: McIvor Community Friendship Potluck Supper – June 12, 5-6:30 p.m.
The McIvor Community Friendship Supper is a monthly potluck, inviting Harvest, Razorback and Kids’ Club families to join us. This is a McIvor potluck and we are not expecting our guests to bring anything.
We had a wonderful supper in May with many participants! Those who attended were greatly blessed by visiting and having supper with those from our neighborhood. We almost ran out of food!
The potluck is a come and go between 5 and 6:30 p.m. We need you to come and bring a main dish or dessert for 8-10 people.
We also need a few volunteers to help with kitchen duties, dishwasher operation and/or table and chair set up/take down.
Let’s invite the young families in our midst! Who remembers our mission statement from a long time ago: A church family with a heart for the community? Contact Ron for information and to sign up.

Prior to each long weekend, the worship service will be held at 7 p.m. on the Thursday before: June 26, July 31 and August 28. This means there will be no Sunday services on June 29, August 3 and August 31.
Exciting Missions Opportunity!
The Mission Committee has an exciting opportunity to share! McIvor has been approved by MCC to sponsor Therese Kumbakisaka’s niece and her niece’s two year old daughter to come to Canada! They are from the Democratic Republic of Congo, currently living in Cyprus. The process is already underway and we are looking for a few more people to join our committee and help us prepare for and go through this process. If you are interested, please reach out to Colleen, Heather, or contact the office.
