We invite you to join in six weeks of corporate prayer, focused on the heart of the season of Lent: the unsettling, incomprehensible nature of the coming of the Kingdom, highlighting our hearts of sin, and our need for repentance. This is a season of seeing ourselves in the brilliant light of the Messiah—a light
by which the worst parts of us are revealed.
But Lent’s beauty is that in exactly this uncomfortable revelation of who we really are, we see Jesus drawing near to people just like us, giving His life for ours, inviting us to become like Him in His death, that we may also live as He does. Repentance is how we draw near to the God who has come near to us.
Lent is a season of both being burdened by the reality of our sin, and lightened by the surprising gift of forgiveness. It is a season that calls us to die, and by dying, to receive new, resurrection-life. The confusion and ambiguity is cleared up (gradually for the disciples, immediately for us with the benefit of hindsight and apostolic witness) on Easter morning, when the empty tomb definitively proves the unthinkable power and love of God shown to us in Jesus Christ.
Each week you will receive a handout for your prayer and reflection. We encourage you to write down what stands out to you from your prayer time.
Thank you for taking part in this important season of Lent very intentionally. May He shine His light brightly into our lives, that we in turn may reflect Him brightly.
