Weekly Worship Service

Sunday at 10 a.m. Pastor Jon will continue our new series, 1 Samuel: Who Is Your King?, speaking from 1 Samuel 3:1-21 with a sermon entitled The King Speaks. Read more about the sermon series. Sunday School for children aged preschool to grade 5 will follow the service.

Condolences to Hanna Rempel and her Family 

Friday morning, Hanna Rempel’s sister, Katie Regier, passed away in Paraguay. The funeral service was held Saturday, October 26. Please pray for Hanna and her family during this difficult time.

Opportunity to Bless a Church with our Space–Sundays 12-3:30 p.m.

A church is wanting to rent space here on Sunday afternoons, from 12-3:30 p.m. as soon as possible. In order for that to happen, McIvor needs to provide someone, 18+ years of age, to be available to open/close the church and to be present in the building. An $80 honorarium will be provided. Please contact the office if you are interested.

1 Kids’ Club Volunteer Needed – Wednesdays, 7 p.m.

Our midweek Kids’ Club is looking for 1 more volunteer willing to help out one Wednesday night a month. There are a variety of roles that need to be filled. Contact Monica to sign up, or if you have questions.

Worship and Audio Team Opportunity

We are looking for singers and musicians who have a passion for worshipping Jesus and for those who would enjoy serving as part of our Audio Team. If you or someone you know may be interested, please talk to Anne (worship), Isaac (audio), or another member of these teams.

McIvor Coffeehouse

Do you love coffee? Our Coffeehouse Team is looking for Baristas to join us! This is a great way to connect with our church community and learn a new skill (making fancy coffee is fun). All training provided—no, you don’t need to be a trained coffee expert. Our team is a lot of fun and we’d love for you to join us. Baristas typically serve once every 4-6 weeks. Homemade Meat Bun Fundraiser for Donwood Manor Auxiliary – until October 31

The Donwood Manor Auxiliary is pleased to present their first Meat Bun Fundraiser, with all funds raised helping to support quality programming and projects in the Personal Care Home. Singin’ in the Grain – Canadian Foodgrains Bank with MCC – October 27, 3 p.m., Douglas Mennonite Church

We invite you to join us for Singin’ in the Grain, a live choral concert by the Eastman Male Choir and the Faith and Life Male Choir supporting the work of Canadian Foodgrains Bank and MCC. Calvin Christian Sutton Avenue Campus–Maintenance Position

The Calvin Christian Sutton Avenue campus is looking for a part time Maintenance Person – term position (Monday-Friday, 48 weeks of the year). The tasks of the position include the monitoring of the building’s heating, ventilation and electrical systems, general building maintenance and repair, grounds maintenance and occasional cleaning. Please submit your letter of application and resume to John Siepman by November 1.

Steve Bell Concert–November 15, 7:30 p.m., Burton Cummings Theatre

Christian singer-songwriter Steve Bell will be performing in Winnipeg with his band (featuring special guest pianist Mike Janzen) on Friday, November 15, 7:30 p.m. at the Burton Cummings Theatre, 364 Smith St. The concert is celebrating his 23rd album release, The Glad Surprise.
