Weekly Worship Service

Sunday, August 25 at 10 a.m. we welcome back Matt Janzen, who will continue our series Divine Questions, speaking from Mark 7:1-23: Don’t You Understand Either?

Throughout the summer we are exploring some of the divine questions asked in Scripture. Our prayer is that as we engage with the questions Jesus asks of us, we will be filled more deeply by the Holy Spirit with the knowledge of God. Read more

Pray for the Families of:

Brent Pudsey – Brent passed away last Thursday. The funeral was held Thursday, August 8 in the Buntain Chapel at Calvary Temple Church. Read his obituary

John Derksen – John passed away peacefully Sunday, August 11 with Norma at his side. His celebration of life was held at Friends Funeral Service Saturday, August 17 at 11 a.m. with reception to follow. Watch the service. Read his obituary.

Cornelius Dyck – Cornelius, husband to Luise, passed away on Saturday, August 10 in Bow Island, Alberta. Cornelius and Luise were long-time members at McIvor before moving to Bow Island to be closer to their children. Read his obituary. The funeral was held on Saturday, August 17 at 11 a.m. MDT.

Let’s continue to pray for these families in this season of grieving. May God’s indescribable peace fill them and comfort them.

Results of the August 11, 2024 Vote

The result of the congregational and advance ballots was an overwhelming 100% in favour vote for both motions:

  • that Leona Boschman be affirmed as a member of Council, beginning in September, 2024.
  • that Pastor Mikayla Schroeder be hired for the 0.6 permanent position as Youth and Young Adults Pastor beginning on October 1, 2024.

Potluck, Worship Service and Kids Activities – Thursday, August 29

For our final Thursday evening Worship Service of the summer, we are changing things up! We will begin with a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a shorter than usual service at 6:15 p.m. and finally have dessert and coffee at 7 p.m. with activities for the kids until 8 p.m.

Summer Worship Schedule

Prior to the Labour Day long weekend, the worship service will be held at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday August 29, following the potluck dinner at 5:30. There will be no Sunday service on September 1.

How Can We Help?

Grace and Sandra, who are doing an internship at McIvor this summer, are available to come by for a visit and even help with light yard work or other tasks. If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact Pastor Mikayla.

CMU Xplore

CMU’s Xplore extended education program investigates dimensions of the Christian faith, our world and life in it—all without assignments or exams! Courses begin October 1 and topics include the Sermon on the Mount and the rise and fall of the Soviet Union. Churches may consider hosting an Xplore watch party with people from the community. MBCM/CCMBC Hiring Communications Position

MBCM and CCMBC are currently looking to hire someone for their communications teams. The combined responsibilities include graphic design, audio/video production, content creation, social media management and web maintenance for both organizations.
