2024-08-29 Divine Questions What are you doing here
Weekly Worship Service

Thursday at 6:15 p.m. Pastor Kim will conclude our series Divine Questions, speaking from 1 Kings 19:1-18: What Are You Doing Here?

This is our final Worship Service of the summer and we are changing things up! We are making a Family Evening out of it, beginning with a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m., followed by a shorter than usual service at 6:15 p.m. and finally have dessert and coffee at 7 p.m. with activities for the kids until 8 p.m.

There will be no worship service on Sunday due to the Labour Day long weekend.

Prayer Focus: It’s About Our Hearts

“…These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.” Mark 7:6-7

“…It’s not what goes into your body that defiles you; you are defiled by what comes from your heart.” Mark 7:14-15

Fall Kick-Off Thai Lunch – September 8

Let’s reconnect after the summer holidays! Join us in the gym following the worship service for a Thai-inspired lunch and a chance to catch up with Dave and Louise Sinclair-Peters. Gluten-free and dairy-free options will be available.

How Can We Help?

Grace and Sandra, who are doing an internship at McIvor this summer, are available to come by for a visit and even help with light yard work or other tasks. If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact Pastor Mikayla.

Opportunity For Those Who Love Taking Photos

Do you have a love for taking photos? This is your opportunity to share your passion for photography. We are starting a revolving photo wall and are hoping to feature photos that capture glimpses of God’s creation. For more information, please contact the office. Happy photo taking!

CMU Xplore

CMU’s Xplore extended education program investigates dimensions of the Christian faith, our world and life in it—all without assignments or exams! Courses begin October 1 and topics include the Sermon on the Mount and the rise and fall of the Soviet Union. Churches may consider hosting an Xplore watch party with people from the community.
