October 27, 2025 – This Week at McIvor

2025-11-02 Stories from Scripture God Speaks to Elijah - 1 Kings 191-18; John 1227-28
Weekly Worship Service

On Sunday at 10 a.m. Pastor Jon will continue with Stories from Scripture, preaching a sermon entitled God Speaks to Elijah, based on 1 Kings 19:1-18; John 12:27-28

Sunday School for children ages preschool to grade 5 will follow the service.

In anticipation of the Congregational Meeting on November 8, the Fall Report is available here or in hard copy at the Information Centre.

New Adult Education Series with Dr. Andrew Dyck – Stories that Shape and Reshape Us – Sunday, 11 a.m.

Stories shape the connections and the barriers between us. This is also true for churches—including the Mennonite Brethren (MB) church. During three adult education sessions, Dr. Andrew Dyck will tell older and newer stories that shape how MB churches relate to other churches (or don’t)—churches such as Mennonite, Lutheran, Evangelical, Vineyard, Catholic, and more. These stories matter, because Jesus prayed that all His followers would be “one.” Let’s consider together how these stories shape our practices of unity today, and how we might create stories of visible inter-church unity today.
